Grilled Butterflied Tiger Prawns

This scrumptious and healthy dish is perfect as a main dish or as an appetizer and can be served with salad or your favorite starch. Instead of using a skewer, I decided to butterfly the prawns and marinate them for a couple of minutes before grilling. I used oyster sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, fish sauce and lemon juice for marinade. When I was done grilling and my son saw the butterflied grilled prawns, he was happy, because it is going to be easy for him to remove the shell which is his least favorite part when eating shrimps.

Ingredients:
  • 12 pieces Tiger Prawns (washed, butterflied and deveined)
  • 2 tbsp. Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp. Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Fish Sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • Fresh Juice from 1 Lemon
Let's Cook!
  1.  In a medium bowl, combine all the ingredients except prawns and mix well.
  2.  Put the prawns on to the marinade shell up and marinate while heating up the grill or pan.
  3. Heat up the grill or a cast iron skillet sprayed with non-stick oil.
  4. When the iron cast skillet is hot enough grill the prawns until it turns pink, turning each side.
  5. Serve with your favorite starch or put on top of a bed of salad for  a lighter and healthier meal.
